Garden Loom

Today, I built a garden loom. I was going to build one of out boards & whatnot. Then I realized how much that would cost. So instead, I played with sticks like my boys always do. All I spent was 2.75 on a roll of twine and 1.5 hours later, I have a fabulous garden loom.

Addicted to Granola

Since I'm not eating ice cream as much these days, I've been making lots of granola. Not just plain, boring granola, but super awesome stuff! I eat it with some Stonyfield Farm Low Fat French Vanilla yogurt. It is so sweet and delicious. Here is what I toss in my granola after melting the peanut butter & honey together:

Old Fashioned Oats
Ground Flax Seed
Wheat Germ
Freeze Dried Cranberries
Raisins
Ground Mixed Nuts

The last batch also included some diced dried apples that my Grandma gave me. She has apple trees in her yard that we used to climb as kids.

I have even been eating it for breakfast but I might have to back off because I'm going through a batch a week! However, I might have to make more soon just so that I can take pictures. Who doesn't want to see beautiful granola?!

Fresh Veggies and Lunch at the Lake

Wednesday, I picked some nice sweet peppers and sweet corn. This is just the first few ears. I didn't end up with near as much corn as I would have liked. We ended up with about 6 that were good. Live & Learn. Then we went to Lake Crawford for lunch and some swimming. Our go-to lunch for these outings is peanut butter & jelly. This time I brought along some Just Tomatoes fruit. I *love* the pineapple!

"BIRTH"

This was an exhibit at The Discovery Center when the boys and I went on Kace's birthday. I loved it so much that I just had to take photos, which would be better quality if I could get a new camera, but that is for another blog. It is just in a hallway and I never noticed it on our other trips. Too bad they don't have it where more people can see it, but at least it is there.

Three Years and Still Going Strong

This is a bit blurry but still so precious. I took it on Kace's 3rd birthday, July 20th.
He has been nursing for over 3 years now. I won't get into all the reasons it is best for him or defend myself for still nursing a three year old. He is happy & healthy and so am I. That is all that matters.

Why won't this child sleep?

It is 12:15 in the morning and I'm up with Kace. He took a 3.75 hour nap this evening. I had planned on staying up late anyway to take photos of some diapers. However, I broke a bulb for my lightbox this afternoon and forgot to buy one when I made a late night trip to Wal-mart earlier.

So I'm stuck with nothing to do. Aaron and Kale are asleep in the bedroom so I can't really go sew without making someone mad. I would love to sit down and read a book I've been reading for almost a year. Maybe by the time the boys move out of the house I'll have it read.

For now, I am going to go back into the Soldier-Animal Base and protect the giraffe from the mountain lion with green, plastic soldiers.

I guess this is it!

The boys are outside playing in the water. Aaron is at work. The dogs are being loud right behind me. Dishes and laundry need done. I just feel like starting a blog for myself. Not that I have any business doing this seeing that I can't even keep the one for the boys up to date.

However, sometimes I just want to sit down and type out *my* day without having to upload a ton of photos or making sure to put up pictures of both boys. Especially since Kale doesn't like having his picture taken and Kace is ham. So here it is. This is me talking about what we do. Well, mostly what I do.

Oh, I guess I'll post one picture, which may get deleted in a few days if I get tired of seeing myself. I'm a lot like Kale and hate having my picture taken.
